4) Test and receive your CDL. The CDL is required for anyone who wants to drive tractor trailers, buses, tow trucks, and other trucks which way at least 26,000 pounds. The CDL's are only good for the driver's residence, but if you want to get started early, hopefully you reside in one of these states. I remember when the Truck driving school was teaching me how to meet all the CDL requirements. They taught me how to back up, shift and do lane changes and everything. But the real deal of getting loaded, to driving through the mountains is another thing.

They will teach you every lesson to get a successful truck driver job and fit into any truck driving company easily. The learning approach followed is general so that you can apply them wherever applicable. Whereas when you take the course from the trucking company school they will follow a customized learning pattern which is used in their trucking company to dispatch available loads. Thus you may lack the competing knowledge when compared with the independent school truck driving course.
If you don't like your experience and the students coming out of the school aren't satisfactory to the companies they go to work for then the school is going to die a long, slow death. Nobody will HR Truck Licence want to attend. So they will get straight to work filling you with information.... and tons of it.
This job's main advantage is that you get to see places where you have never been. Even though it might scare you at first, with a map and precise directions you shouldn't worry about it. From the seaside to the mountains and deserts, you will see everything. If you go in different states and meet new people, you will learn new accents and customs. It is all about making a living and at the same time live your life. When you will grow old, and you will have grandchildren, you'll be able to tell them that you've seen many places in Truck licence your life, and even help them with geography.
You may be witness to historical events and not even know it. Additionally, you will have some time to spare in the cities you go, so don't worry about learning only the docks, parking lots and warehouses. If you are a sociable person and you don't like routine, this job is made for you. You will never eat at the same hour. Sometimes you will not even get to sleep. But that shouldn't be a problem since you can taste new out-of-the-ordinary food every couple of days and sleep in the comfort of different hotels.
